Marseille mon amour: Mediterranean city celebrates love

Paris might have a monopoly on romance when it comes to the public imagination, but the French capital now has some competition from a southern contender. Marseille is hosting the "Quel Amour" festival; a series of artistic events celebrating all forms of love.

Also, Berlin's annual film festival wraps up as the German capital maintains its place as the most fan-friendly spot to catch this year's new releases; we meet a couple of die-hard film enthusiasts who have become regulars at the Berlinale.

Meanwhile, South African photographer David Goldblatt is celebrated at Paris’s Pompidou centre in a retrospective that chronicles the apartheid years as seen through his singular gaze.

And op-art pioneer Victor Vasarely steps back into the light, with a handful of retrospectives revisiting the artist and designer’s graphic output.
