'I want to see strong women on screen': Nabil Ayouch puts feminism first in 'Razzia'
Tackling sexuality, women's rights and the constraints of a conservative society have got Moroccan filmmaker Nabil Ayouch in hot water in the past. Yet that hasn’t deterred him: his latest film "Razzia" features all of the above. He joins us on set with his wife, co-writer and lead actress Maryam Touzani to discuss the social and political shift that has taken place in Morocco over the last 35 years.
Ayouch tells us how the controversy surrounding 2015’s "Much Loved" cast a shadow over his subsequent projects and Touzani talks about the need to weave personal struggles into her on-screen characters.
