Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad: 'Music has helped me go on'
Before 2011, Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad ran a successful music school and instrument workshop with his father in Yarmouk. Then the revolution came - and the bombs. As the barbarity took hold, Ahmad pulled his piano around the ruins of his hometown as an act of defiance, offering hope for those trying to survive in the rubble. But Ahmad had to leave his parents behind in Yarmouk. He tells FRANCE 24 about his new life as a refugee in Germany and his hope that peace will one day return to Syria.
