'The idea that the French language could revive after Brexit is a sweet dream'

Is English on the way out? That's the question being asked across Europe as the United Kingdom prepares to exit the European Union. Why should its remaining member states continue to speak English, when only Ireland and Malta use English as their first language? Shouldn’t another language - dare we suggest French - take the place of English?
