'Europe has become the world’s largest exporter of ivory'

Every year, poachers kill an estimated 30,000 elephants for their tusks. African leaders are now pressing Europe to follow China's lead by ending the ivory trade. Recently, 32 African countries called on the European Union to tighten its ban on ivory trade at a conference in Botswana. We spoke to Bert Wander, campaign director for Avaaz, who was at that conference.
