'We like to show French people plays which are acted in the English way'

Frank McGuinness's play "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me" depicts the kidnapping of three men - an Englishman, an Irishman and an American - who are then held hostage in Lebanon. The story is loosely based on the kidnapping of the Irish writer Brian Keenan and the British journalist John McCarthy in the late 1980s. The play is now being given a new lease of life here in Paris, being performed by a bilingual theatre company. We met two of the actors, one of whom is also behind the theatre group.
