Video: Homophobic attacks on the rise in France
Issued on: Modified:
Last month, 30-year-old Romain was leaving a Normandy nightclub when he was bundled into a car and attacked by a gang, just because he's gay. Sadly his story is far from unique. The French government has confirmed a 15 percent rise in homophobic attacks since January. But the real figure is unknown because so many men and women are too afraid to report the physical or verbal abuse they receive. Earlier this year, FRANCE 24's team went to meet some of the country's gay community.
