An illustrious selection of guests – from the royal to the merely famous – gathered at Windsor Castle on Saturday for the marriage of Prince Harry to American actress Meghan Markle. Watch FRANCE 24's special coverage of the star-studded event.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married today at St George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle in a ceremony watched by tens of millions of TV viewers worldwide.

After taking their vows, the newlyweds exited from the Chapel's West Steps before embarking on a 25-minute carriage procession through Windsor. The route leads down the High Street and along the Long Walk, a tree-lined avenue back up to Windsor Castle.

Meghan walked down the aisle with Prince Charles, who filled in for her ailing father. Harry's best man was his brother, Prince William.

The couple chose vows using modern rather than traditional language, while Meghan will take her cue from recent royal brides and not vow to "obey" her husband.
