Overcoming the trauma: Singing lessons help former child soldiers in Uganda
Date created :
We head to Uganda to meet victims of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel group founded by warlord Joseph Kony in the 1980s. Since then the LRA has killed more than 100,000 people, and abducted about 25,000 children to use as servants, soldiers or sex slaves. Now though, one French charity is trying to help victims deal with the trauma and find a reason to smile again, all this through music therapy. The youngsters recently held a concert in the capital Kampala. Our correspondents report.
A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett and Rebecca Martin.
