Senators in Argentina are debating whether or not to legalise abortion in all cases up to 14 weeks of pregnancy. Currently, it’s only allowed if the fetus is deformed, the woman has been raped or if the woman's life is in danger. But despite the law, an estimated half a million women have illegal terminations every year. Will Argentina legalise abortion? If not, why? And what will the vote mean for women there and elsewhere in the region?
