US-China trade war: The end of free trade as we know it?
Issued on: Modified:
It's Day One of $16 billion worth of tariffs on US-imported Chinese goods... and in response, Beijing has imposed duties on the same amount of US merchandise. US President Donald Trump doesn't expect much from a second day of trade talks, instead he's threatened to escalate and his commerce secretary insists "we have many more bullets than they do." Can tariffs force China to open its own economy? Is this the end of free trade as we know it? We discuss this and more in the FRANCE 24 Debate.
