Venezuela hit by massive currency devaluation

As Venezuela devalues its currency by 96 percent, President Nicolas Maduro is accused of mismanaging the country's economy. The capital, Caracas, used to be a stronghold for late president Hugo Chavez. FRANCE 24’s Claire Paccalin reports from one Caracas neighbourhood where residents now watch on with confusion as their daily lives become a constant struggle.


And US President Donald Trump has been implicated in a legal matter as his long time lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleads guilty to criminal charges. Separately, Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, has been found guilty on eight counts of fraud.

And Pope Francis has written an open letter to Catholics around the world. The letter comes in the wake of a Pennsylvania grand jury report which detailed decades of sexual abuse at the hands of the clergy.
