40 years and counting: The UN's peacekeeping mission in Lebanon

UNIFIL – the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon – has been operating in south Lebanon for the past 40 years. First set up in 1978 to monitor a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, UNIFIL has grown in size and responsibilities, with now over 10,000 peacekeepers on the ground. Our correspondents take a closer look at their day-to-day tasks in a zone that has witnessed repeated conflicts in recent decades.
