In France, a farmer commits suicide every other day. All too often, their despair stems from financial insecurity, debts and constant pressure to work harder to make a living. As supermarkets compete with each other for the lowest prices, they in turn pay farmers less for their produce. FRANCE 24's Julie Dungelhoeff and Claire Paccalin report.
