Jean Paul Gaultier's Freaks are Chic
Issued on: Modified:
He's a living legend in the world of haute couture, an ambassador for French style - albeit with a very quirky twist. Now Jean-Paul Gaultier has turned his hand to cabaret, staging his "Fashion Freak Show". Olivia Salazar-Winspear heads to the Folies Bergères in Paris to check out the show, which has artistic input from director Toni Marshall and a disco-inspired soundtrack thanks to Nile Rodgers.
We also take a look at an exhibition at the Cartier Foundation which finds geometrical echoes in artwork from Latin America.
Portuguese artist Paula Rego's "cruel stories" are also on display in the French capital. FRANCE 24 takes a look at her paintings and pastels and finds them as unsettling as they are homely.
