All Saints Day is a chance for the French to honour their dead, but not all do so in the same way. With a multicultural and multi-faith population, the country blends a variety of traditions and rituals – including secular ones. And as life expectancy grows, so too do the practical difficulties, most notably the overpopulation of cemeteries. However, cremation is increasingly the go-to choice of funeral arrangement.
