Michael Jackson, 'On the Wall': Art inspired by the King of Pop
Issued on: Modified:
He was the first truly global pop phenomenon: Michael Jackson wowed the world with his musical talent, his unique dance moves and his gift for self-reinvention. Yet alongside the platinum disks and the sold-out arena tours, struggles with his own identity were a large part of the mythology surrounding the singer; a troubled genius who inspired and fascinated other artists throughout his career.
France 24’s Olivia Salazar-Winspear takes a look at some of the art inspired by the singer in the exhibition "Michael Jackson: On the Wall", which features work from Andy Warhol, David LaChapelle and Keith Haring.
And we take a look at the angles, lines and forms which made up one of the most important movements in 20th century art at a new show on Cubism at Paris’s Pompidou Centre.
