Complementary and alternative medicine: France's parallel healthcare system

In France, the use of "complementary and alternative medicine" - such as hypnosis or acupuncture - is on the rise. According to a survey, 58 percent of French people turned to them in 2017. And while some French doctors view these practices as a potential hazard, others have chosen to integrate some of them to supplement mainstream therapy. In some cases, the benefits might be viewed as purely subjective. In others, the effects can be put to the ultimate test.
