Youssef Chahine: Films of Alexandria's giant of cinema revisited in Paris

He launched the career of actor Omar Sharif and put iconic French singer Dalida on the silver screen: Youssef Chahine was a major figure in the golden age of Egyptian cinema thanks to his naturalistic, groundbreaking films. Ten years after his death, the Cinémathèque Française is hosting a retrospective of his greatest features alongside an exhibition exploring his universe.
