US medics refuse to be silent on gun violence

The NRA, the powerful US gun lobby, recently asked doctors not to meddle in gun violence cases. Surgeons, nurses, and other medical personnel took to social media, posting testimonials and videos of operations. The hashtag used was "this is our lane", a reaction to the NRA's demand that doctors refrain from commenting on gun violence. Many doctors have first-hand experience of what they consider a public health crisis and are calling for stricter gun laws. Our correspondents report.
