Film show: 'The Favourite', 'Claire Darling' and the Lumières awards
A royal tyrant known for her disagreeable temperament may not be the obvious subject for a period drama but director Yorgos Lanthimos brings his surreal touch to the 18th century court of Queen Anne in the "The Favourite". Film critic Ben Croll tells us why the director's wicked sense of humour works well in the hands of its three female stars.
We also check out French family drama "Claire Darling" which sees Catherine Deneuve sharing the bill with her daughter, Chiara Mastroianni.
And France's foreign journalists hand out their annual accolades at the Lumières awards, hosted by France 24’s Eve Jackson and academy president Lisa Nesselson.
