'Wherever we have armed conflict today, children are very likely to be used'
According to the NGO Child Soldiers International, the number of children involved in armed conflict has more than doubled since 2012: there's been a 159 percent rise, with almost 30,000 recruitment cases verified. FRANCE 24 spoke to Sandra Olsson from Child Soldiers International. She told us that children - some in their late teens, some as young as four - are being used as killing machines, or perhaps as cooks, messengers or spies. We asked her what can be done about this alarming situation.
