An Algerian awakening? Protests swell as ailing President Bouteflika runs for fifth term

“One more year”. That's the promise of Algerian authorities if voters approve a fifth term for ailing President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, saying they will then replace him. But this time, citizens are out in the streets. Algerians who long thought it best to stay out of politics after the bloody years of the 1990s and the early 2000s are voicing their outrage. So far they've done so peacefully. Where will the movement go now? What are the reactions to the government's promise of a transition year?
