All or nothing: Can parliament stop Boris Johnson's Brexit blitz?

It's another make-or-break day for Britain's parliamentary democracy... only this time there's a new sheriff in town. Forget those happy-go-lucky "Boris the buffoon" caricatures that dismissed the seriousness of the new prime minister. As the Commons once again tries to wrest control of the Brexit process, gone is Theresa May and in her place a Tory leader who looked at his wafer-thin majority, his divided party and opted to come out swinging.

Will he really crack the whip and force out remainers like Philip Hammond, thereby irrevocably turning the Conservatives into the party of Leave? Will he make good on the threat of a snap election? Would it steal the thunder of hard Brexiteers?

The leader of the opposition claims he relishes the prospect of a snap poll, but will remainers rally behind a Jeremy Corbyn who's never put his heart into staying in the EU? With that October 31 deadline for crashing out of the EU looming, we on this side of the Channel are dying to know.
