UfM chief: 'Migration is being used by some political factions in Europe for electoral purposes'
Nasser Kamel is Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean. Set up a decade ago, it's now at the heart of some of Europe's biggest concerns, from security to migration. Kamel spoke to FRANCE 24's Catherine Nicholson about the ongoing protests in Algeria, as well as migration to Europe. He says migration is being used by some political factions in Europe for "electoral purposes", and invites them to work with the Union for the Mediterranean to deal with the "root causes" of migration.
