Not the usual bank holiday: Labour Day in France and Venezuela

Some 164,000 people marched for International Workers' Day in France, according to interior ministry figures. Observers have been keeping an eye out for signs of unity between unions, Yellow Vest protesters and Black Blocs. May 1st is also the one-year anniversary of the Benalla scandal, much to the delight of some Twitter users.
