Emma Bonino: 'The benefits of the EU are taken for granted'

Our guest has been described as the conscience of Italy. She's served as Italy's foreign minister, a European Commissioner and an MEP. She first entered the Italian parliament as an MP in 1976, having cut her teeth in social activism campaigning for abortion rights. Emma Bonino is now the lead candidate in the upcoming EU elections for the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats group. She spoke to FRANCE 24's Luke Brown about the current political situation in her native Italy and in the EU.
