Promoting gender equality: The importance of sending girls to school

According to France, which holds the G7 presidency for this year, only 45% of countries have equal numbers of boys and girls in secondary education. Ahead of the second meeting of the G7 Gender Equality Council here in Paris, we speak to Council member Alice Albright, CEO of the Global Partnership for Education, about why supporting access to learning is a fundamental aspect of any initiative to improve girls' lives.
