Russia's Arkhangelsk region refuses to become Moscow's rubbish dump
In Russia, protests have been taking place for months against Moscow's plans to ship its rubbish outside the city limits. Residents of Arkhangelsk, located 1,200 kilometres from the capital, are determined their region will not become a massive rubbish dump. Half a million tons of waste are due to be sent annually by train to a site in the middle of a forest. Our France 2 colleagues report, with FRANCE 24's Emerald Maxwell.
