Beyond stereotypes: How the French view Canadians

Maple syrup, beautiful forests and freezing winters - that's what French people think of when they're asked about Canada, according to a new survey by the Canadian embassy here in Paris. Those clichés please the Canadian ambassador Isabelle Hudon, although she's equally pleased that French people also think of Canada as being progressive, having respect for the rule of law and being a trusted ally. We discussed the links between the two countries in today’s Perspective.
