Fighting desertification in Spain: The battle is on
In Spain, desertification is silent. But year after year, erosion eats up vegetation. If nothing is done, two thirds of the country could become desert before the end of the century. In the southern Almeria and Murcia regions, initiatives have been launched to curb deforestation and protect the local biodiversity. Our Spain correspondents Mélina Huet and Sarah Morris report.
