Sinckler off in early blow for England

Yokohama (Japan) (AFP) –

England suffered an early blow in the Rugby World Cup final against South Africa on Saturday when dynamic prop Kyle Sinckler was stretchered off after just three minutes with the score at 0-0.

Sinckler was left prone on the pitch at Yokohama Stadium after colliding with teammate Maro Itoje's elbow as the two tried to wrap up South African winger Makazole Mapimpi.

French referee Jerome Garces immediately stopped play after England scrum-half Ben Youngs called the injury to his attention.

Medical staff rushed on and after some treatment Sinckler was seen sitting up before walking off unaided but flanked by two doctors.
