French strike: Closures, cancellations and contretemps
The biggest strike in France for almost 25 years saw more than 800,000 people turn out nationwide to protest the government's plans for pension reforms. Trains and flights were cancelled and schools closed, but fears of traffic gridlock proved unfounded. It seems many people chose to stay at home. But with the walkout continuing until at least the end of Monday, will the protesters' momentum continue or wane?
