Tiffany Amber: 20 years of Nigerian Ready to Wear

Amidst the couture frenzy of Paris Fashion Week, one event turned the spotlight specifically on the best of African luxury clothing brands. Amongst the creations on display at Luxury Connect Africa were those of the brand Tiffany Amber. It was founded in Lagos in 1998 by Folake Coker. The Nigerian designer tells us how she plans on marking 20 years in the business.


Also, female artists call for more recognition in African cinema as the Fespaco film festival wraps up. In 50 years, no woman has ever won the event's top prize.

And across Africa, many traditional ways of marking of life's milestones are disappearing. But one group of women has spent decades painstakingly gathering documentation of rites native to dozens of countries.
