Renault's board ousts Thierry Bolloré as CEO
Issued on: Modified:
Renault's board has voted to dismiss Thierry Bolloré as CEO with immediate effect. Chief Financial Officer Clotilde Delbos has taken over as interim leader. The shake-up comes just a few days after Renault's Japanese partner, Nissan, appointed a new CEO. The alliance was badly shaken by the arrest of former boss Carlos Ghosn almost a year ago, and Bolloré's ouster is seen as the latest effort by Renault to cut its links to the disgraced tycoon.
Plus, optimism is rising that the US and China may reach a mini-deal to resolve or ease their 15-month trade battle, after Donald Trump said the current round of high-level talks were "going very well".
