What about a tax credit for buying second-hand goods?

Two leading French entrepreneurs have proposed a tax credit for consumers who buy second-hand goods, in an effort to cut waste. The government is unlikely to be favourable to the idea though, as it's trying to simplify France's complex tax system. Also today, Donald Trump threatens to "substantially" increase tariffs on Chinese imports if a deal isn't reached to resolve the trade war between the world's two largest economies.
