French economy to shrink by 11% in 2020, government warns
The French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has warned that the economy will shrink by 11 percent this year. The new forecast shows a deeper slump in 2020 than the government had previously been expecting. Meanwhile, France's Labour Minister Muriel Pénicaud has said she expects unemployment to jump in the coming months, as some businesses will not recover from the lockdown.
