Erdogan's new front: Turkey takes on Syria's Kurds (part 1)
Turkish troops have crossed into Afrin province, under the control of Syrian Kurdish forces since 2012. The push is part of plans to prevent the Kurds from establishing a continuous territory along the Turkish border and comes days after the US pledged a two-year commitment to support Syria's Kurds. Will Ankara make good on its design to next go for Manbij, an Arab-majority town under Kurdish control - and inside that US protection zone? It would be a direct challenge to a fellow NATO member.
