Russian journalist’s faked murder: A propaganda coup for whom?

In today’s Debate we turn our eye to events in Ukraine these past few days, where officials announced the murder of Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, only for him to appear – alive – on TV the following day. This was all part of an unusual, complicated plot aimed at catching the person, or people, who really were trying to kill him. We ask: might this backfire on Ukraine? Or has this raised awareness of the real dangers faced by journalists who dare to speak out against Vladimir Putin?
