Musical maestro Philippe Jordan on bringing passion to the Paris Opera
Swiss conductor Philippe Jordan has been waving the baton at the Paris Opera for close to a decade, as the prestigious company's musical director. The maestro is currently conducting a rare, complete version of Giuseppe Verdi’s epic masterpiece "Don Carlos", marking the 150th anniversary of the grand opera's premiere.
He spoke to France 24’s Richelle Harrison Plesse about getting the best out of his singers and musicians, and how opera is moving towards more diversity and reaching a wider audience.
