Music show: Starchild and the New Romantic, Pitchfork Festival, The Prodigy & Barbara Streisand
Bryndon Cook, AKA Starchild and the New Romantic is an up and coming force in indie RnB. After touring and collaborating with artists such as Solange and Blood Orange, he’s stepped into the limelight with his solo project, culminating in the release of his debut album "Language" earlier this year. He talks to FRANCE 24’s Richelle Harrison Plesse about his musical style (self-dubbed "champion music for the heartbroken"), which fuses modern RnB, synth-driven soul and futurist funk.
We also cast our eye over the line-up at this year’s Pitchfork Festival Paris, and take a listen to new sounds from electronic punk pioneers The Prodigy and music icon Barbara Streisand.
