Déjà vu in Czech Republic and Slovakia, 30 years after Velvet Revolution?
Issued on: Modified:
In the days after the fall of the Berlin Wall, protesters in what was then Czechoslovakia rose up to peacefully end Communist rule. To mark the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, more than 200,000 Czechs took to the streets of Prague this past Saturday. Three decades on, many in the crowd were once again calling for change and for their prime minister - who is accused of corruption - to step down. FRANCE 24's team reports from the Czech Republic and neighbouring Slovakia.
