Turnout high in Zimbabwe's landmark election
Issued on:
Voters turn out in large numbers for Zimbabwe's first election since Robert Mugabe was ousted last year. Many hope it will be an opportunity for the country to start a new chapter. In Mali, counting is underway after Sunday's vote. Hundreds of polling stations saw disruptions or closures. And Comoros held a referendum to extend the presidential term limit and end a system of rotating power among the country's three main islands. The opposition has called the move a power grab.
