Northwest Nigeria violence drives 20,000 displaced into Niger

The UNHCR warns that violence in northwest Nigeria has forced around 20,000 refugees to seek safety in neighbouring Niger since April. Also, Sudan is seeing its workers walk off the job for two days of a general strike aimed at putting pressure on the military. And finally, Kenya is emerging as a new producer of silk. The crops are more reliable for farmers than maize or coffee.
