Malian jihadist police chief on trial at ICC over Timbuktu destruction

A Malian jihadist police chief appears in court in The Hague accused of overseeing "unimaginable crimes" in Timbuktu in 2012. Al Hassan has been charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court. Also, in North Darfur, several people are reportedly killed by the feared Janjaweed militia after unrest breaks out following recent protests calling for better governance and security. And we hear from members of a female-led collective in Togo who pioneer intensive techniques in their rice cultivation. The project has given participants independence and a better quality of life.
