Paris Fashion Stories, Episode 3: Extreme

Ready-to-wear, summer 2019: Sartorial master Yohji Yamamoto only speaks rarely, so when he does, you should listen.

The aesthetic of Yohji Yamamoto is deconstructed and daring, with large openings revealing more than you might expect. And there’s a political message there too: the designer is trying to raise awareness about climate change, albeit in his own unique way.

At the other extreme, Indian designer Manish Arora immerses himself in the colours of the 1980s in the name of female empowerment. Two very different approaches, but both men do have one thing in common: sport. Yamamoto is collaborating with Adidas, while Arora is working with Paris Saint-Germain!
