Pick a stereotype about Germany and it seems to be holding true right now: their national football team just won the World Cup, their economy is underpinning Europe and Chancellor Angela Merkel enjoys a 77% approval rate at home, making her the most popular leader of all the world's richest nations. But after nine years in power, some are starting to wonder how long her winning streak can last and, crucially for her party, who might one day succeed her.
