The rise of Podemos and participative democracy

It's a political party created less than a year ago but it's won five seats in May's European elections. Now, according to a poll recently published by Spanish daily El País, if general elections were held right now in Spain, Podemos - which means 'We Can' - would win 27.7% of the votes, becoming the country's main political party. The left wing formation has also risen to become Spain's second-largest party in terms of membership. So, how has it become so popular, so fast?
