Israeli Arabs seek to influence outcome of vote

Israelis head to the polls on Tuesday, and with the race tightening, focus is turning to a long-forgotten group of voters: Israel's Arab population. 20% of the electorate are Palestinians with Israeli citizenship, but Arab turnout in Israeli elections has long been low due to widespread disenchantment.


This time around, however, a recently established alliance of four smaller Arab parties has sparked hope among the Israeli Arab community that they now have something to vote for.
