In order to counter extremist ideologies within Islam, attention is increasingly focusing on Morocco. Every year, thousands of students there attend schools promoting a tolerant form of Islam. These schools, which are closely monitored by the state, are now seeing an influx of foreign students as Morocco attempts to position itself as a champion of moderate Islam on the world stage.
